GSR Legal Framework

Dear friends,
For many, it will be useful to know how the legal relationships between the GSR System, specialists (Licensees), and Users of the method are structured.

We adhere to the following principles:

  • Recognition and respect for the Author’s (exclusive intellectual) rights of Dmitry Ustinov to the GSR method
  • Strict adherence to the GSR method and its techniques according to the granted license rights; the method remains unchanged
  • Acknowledgement that no results in the objective world are guaranteed, and in any case will be the consequence of the actions and decisions of the User or the Licensee of the method
  • Strict compliance with the laws of the Russian Federation

The author of the GSR method is Dmitry Ustinov. His authorship rights are confirmed by numerous copyrighted materials, publications, online videos (GSR website, YouTube, VK, Telegram channels, etc.), and by depositing materials on specialized platforms.

The Author grants a non-exclusive right to use certain parts of the method (Modules) to Licensees and Users on a contractual basis. The Author retains personal non-property rights and exclusive property rights.

Each module, like any other result of creative work, is provided “as is.” The Author is not responsible for expectations regarding the method and warns about the subjective nature of the method as the result of creative work.

Those voluntarily involved in practicing the GSR method are divided into two groups: Users and Licensees.

Licensees (GSR Specialists of Module 2 and higher) have the right to distribute the author’s method with prior notice to the Author, and to provide GSR-related services to third parties. Licensees must comply with the laws of the Russian Federation on entrepreneurial activity, register as entrepreneurs or self-employed individuals, conclude contracts with clients (Users), declare income received, pay all applicable taxes according to current legislation, adhere to the method, and not make any changes to it.

Users can receive GSR services from Licensees, and when obtaining a license to use the author’s method (Module 1), they may use the method only for themselves. Users are not entitled to use it for commercial or non-commercial activities and are not allowed to provide GSR services to third parties.

The GSR method is aimed at working with a person’s internal states. The results of applying the method are individual, subjective, and not guaranteed.

According to scientific research conducted in 2024–2025 by the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) in collaboration with Brainstart, a GSR session reduces stress, produces pronounced physiological relaxation, increases theta rhythm power in the frontal cortex of the brain (EEG), facilitates control over automatic emotional behavior by helping to suppress habitual emotional reactions in favor of more conscious actions, positively correlates with successful emotion regulation strategies (especially cognitive reappraisal), may be associated with reduced addictive tendencies, and improves emotional well-being.
The GSR method can effectively activate self-referential and regulatory processes, making it potentially useful in psychotherapeutic practice.

GSR does not promise, guarantee, or bear responsibility for the occurrence or non-occurrence of objective physical or material changes in a person’s life, independent of that person’s own actions, decisions, and behavior.

An important element of the method is the concept of “adequacy” — enabling a person to make conscious, independent decisions, take responsible actions, and rationally assess the surrounding reality.

The scope of application of the method is determined by the User independently, based on their personal interest, and to the extent and in the form they deem sufficient to achieve personal goals.

The method can be used by the User independently or with a GSR Specialist (Licensee) within the scope of the specialist’s (Licensee’s) competencies, confirmed by the relevant Agreement.
